Gotta have roots before branches

Final Photo-a-day June pics!

Day 29: Soft.
Mo! The Costco Elephant!

Day 30: Friend(s).
All the people who make me who I am today.
My dearest friends, thank you for your years of laughter, smiles, friendship and support!
I love you!

That concludes this month's Photo-a-Day challenge. Tune in tomorrow for the start of Photo-a-Day July! Feel free to join in the challenge! Click here for the challenge list!

Last night, I went to see Brave and Marvel's The Avengers at the Drive-in theater in Santa Barbara. It was really neat! Seeing all the cars lined up... people bring chairs and blankets and set up the back of their trucks like beds... Kinda wish we'd had that because I fell asleep about 30 minutes into The Avengers... :-/ Not from lack of interest!! I'm still catching up from lack of sleep from my travels, and the movie started at 10:40pm (past my bedtime! ;]).

Today, Sharell, Casey and I took a walking-plant tour of UCSB to help me study for my class, and to literally, stop and smell the flowers. It was a beautiful day. We saw some silly squirrels chillin atop bushes, a labyrinth and some neat plants. Afterwards, we hit up Rusty's Pizza for lunch, and took over the craft store.

Silly squirrel

Cool labyrinth I didn't know existed at UCSB.

Ahh! Toxicodendron diversilobum!

Uh. Nerds rule?

Craft success!

I'm leaving on a jet plane...

Photo-a-day challenge, Day 16: Out and about.

Grandpa's birthday/father's day cake. He said he's always wanted a sack of money!
It was carrot cake :)

Day 17: In your bag.
I'm all packed and ready for my trip to Costa Rica!

So, we leave SB tonight around 8pm. Our flight leaves at 1:30am tomorrow, and we will arrive in San Salvador around 7:30am. We then get to hang around the airport for about 6 hours, then get to San Jose (CR) around 4:30pm. Then its dinner, 5-hour bus ride, 1-2hr boat ride and hopefully we'll be there and able to sleep. I'm excited for this adventure, and another stamp in my passport!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!! See you all in about a week!!

Time is slipping away...

I keep forgetting to post my pics! All the days are getting jumbled together, and I just don't want to pack, haha.

Day 14: time.

Before and after a delicious meal with Casey and Sharell. One of the yummiest in a long time. Can't beat homemade tacos and Mac n cheese!!

Day 15: yellow.

My cool write-in-all-weather journal for costa rica. Take that, 100% humidity!!

Ready for something new!

Photo-a-day challenge, Day 12: from a low angle

A lovely tree outside the hall to my biology of reproduction class. Just give me the final already!!!
(PS, I think I actually did pretty well on it!!)

Day 13: Art.
This little beauty is my favorite wall piece. One of my best friends painted it for my birthday last year!! I love it :)

Finals are over and my trip to Costa Rica is right around the corner!! I just have a few more things to get before I leave, at the butt-crack of MONDAY not Sunday (I can't read flight itineraries apparently). For after Costa Rica, I will be taking Plant Diversity over the summer, and I applied for a job at the UCSB bookstore. I hope I get it because I need the money, but if they were to try to contact me anytime next week, I'd be screwed since there's basically no internet or whatever where we're going. Right now I'm just waiting anxiously for my grades to be posted. Wooo....
